  1. I am trying to make a way where you don't have to pack out your feces when backpacking. It could affect people around the world because they wouldn't have to carry that extra weight, and it would be much easier. I will judge it's success by seeing if I can get the area around here to consider it. The biggest challenge will be figuring out a way to get the feces to decompose at a faster rate.

  2. In my 20% time project I am trying to make a self-defense class for the community.
I would like to show the basics. it could impact the people that take the class and how the use it. I will judge the success by the number of people that participate in this class. I think my biggest challenge will be getting a facility to do this in.

  3. My group and I are trying to create awareness around our school and community about our dependence on technology. Although technology is very resourceful and convenient we want everyone to know that they can have fun and learn without their phones, iPads iPods, and computers. This could potentially affect the world by creating less of a dependence on technology and more of a dependence on our own body. In theory, people would spend less time on technology and more time using their brains or whole bodies in outside activities/simply reading a book. We are judging our success by comparing ratios and percentages of who uses technology daily at our school and how many people used it on our 'No Technology Day'. Our biggest challenge is weening addicted students from their screens.

  4. My group is trying to enforce limited electronic use in schools and our community. We are trying to give people the idea that there is entertainment outside in the real world. This can help people become healthier by teaching them to go outside and play rather than playing video games. It will be successful only if people care to participate, which will be our toughest challenge.

  5. I am doing my project on getting animals involved in high school. Research has proven that animals, like dogs and cats, reduce stress levels in teenagers and adults. With less stress in the environment students will be less likely to have test anxiety and will also make the students feel more comfortable. If I can get maybe one day when the teachers can bring their dog or one day that a person can bring their pet then it would be a success. The biggest challenge would be getting the school board to approve it and some people might have all allergies.

  6. In my 20% time project I am trying to implant a program that will help the incoming sixth grade students to have an easier transition from elementary school to middle school, because there is such a big change.

The program could impact the world, because other middle schools could use this program if they don't already have one.

I will judge the impact of this project by the amount of work that is made, and if the middle school actually makes a move to implant this program.

My biggest challenge will be trying to get this program implanted and to get the other teachers and students in the middle school participate. Also finding activities that would help with the transition.,

  7. My 20% project is, working with three other students in my free enterprise class, trying to get youth to realize there is life beyond a screen. We are trying to get students at school to be able to put their electronic devices down for a school day or two a year. This will change the world because, in a world that's dependency on technology is ever increasing, there will have to be times where we all step away and enjoy life as it once was. We will judge our success by the general participation in our no technology days at school. If people just blow it off and dont care then we will be unsuccessful. This will also be our biggest challenge. If people arent willing to get away from their screens then it will all be for naught.

  8. I am currently working solo on a project that teaches cybersecurity for both students and adults. Hopefully, it will teach members of our community how to counteract malicious software and hardware and give them skills to prevent cyber attacks in the future. I will be able to judge its success based upon the curriculum extent and total outreach. The biggest challenge is how to get a decent return rate of students.

  9. My twenty percent project is based off of Recycling, and I want to make it into art. Plastic bottles are everywhere and there's tons of different sizes and shapes. I want to build a wall out of plastic bottles and run lights through the bottles. Then, I'd like to have the lights synchronized to music. I'm trying to accomplish recycling awareness, because there's so much trash and its not going away. Sooner or later were going to need an alternative for all the trash. I'm hoping it'll impact the world by getting people to think outside the box with recycling. You can turn plastic bottles into art, walls, lamps and etc. I will judge my success on wether or not I built the wall and if I got at least one person aware of the many different types of ways you can recycle. I think my biggest challenge will be trying to find time to build my art wall and finishing it within our project time frame.

  10. For my 20% project I am working with the elderly. Morgan Ley and I are making them feel important because so many people in our society don't respect their elders. Morgan and I have gone and set up appointments to talk to the elderly at the heartland and are sharing their stories via youtube. When asked about how they feel out in the public eye they said people made them feel stupid and like I need help and have no experience doing anything. I believe it will impact the world in a good way. Not many people listen to the great stories that the elderly have to tell and they lived in a really tough time and throughout at least one war. I judge my 20% projects success by how many people I have talked to and how many stories I have received and shared with people over youtube. The biggest challenge is getting people to either talk or listen to the videos. You can't make someone change and be completely different to a topic but you can change their view of it.

  11. My 20%project is to start a fundraiser for breast cancer. Someone in my family was affected with breast cancer and its the worst thing ever. I want to get bands together and raise money for people that cant afford tests or exams. It will help impact the world by helping people realize they need to be tested. The biggest challenge is going to be people helping us that's for sure.

  12. My plan is to make a green house using hot springs. This will create a enough fresh fruit and vegetables for all the big horn basin and then maybe some. As long as I continue to move forward I will be satisfied. The biggest challenge witll be figuring out all the Chemical parts of the project. What chemicals are in the ground, water and what the plants need.

  13. My 20% projects is to bring the Soccer World Cup once more since 1994 to USA. This project can affect the country economy and also the whole world's economy as well. I will judge it success if at least I can finish the vide to send it to the United States Soccer Federation. The biggest challenge is to get the information I need out of the Internet and show what I want to show.

  14. My 20% percent project is finding a more effective way to remove gum chemically. It will impact the world by easing the duties of janitors around the world. I will judge the success by hoe effectively it will remove the gum. My biggest challenge is finding an Eco-friendly solution to work with.

  15. By the end of this class I hope to have made the world of online shopping safer for everyone. It may not seem like that big of a deal, but when you give your credit card number to someone, you intend it to be used in the way you asked. The problem is that many people can play the system and make it so that they can use your credit card for anything they want to. It is then the responsibility of the buyer, to pay off these debts that they never intended to make in the first place. So, what I have done is use my personal bad buying experience to my advantage. I contacted Amazon.com, and then had them take me through, step by step, the process they now have in place for satisfying cases when people are not satisfied. The next step, for November, will be to go through those several steps, and then critique the steps, and hopefully help to change them and make them more customer friendly and easier to access. My project will be successful if I can make this process easier to use so that people can't get away with stealing online any longer. My biggest challenge will be getting Amazon to consider what I am saying and then to put it into play.

  16. I am trying to create football pads that can keep your body cooler play. The way it will impact the is that kids will be able to perform better and stay ore comfortable in a lighter and cooler pad. If I can make one single kids playing experience more enjoyable and better for him it is a success. My biggest challenge will be building the pads and finding someone that will put there trust and safety into the hands of a sixteen or seventeen year old.

  17. My 20% project is to devise a group of foods that you can find around your home and make into a maybe a smoothie that will help you recover and build muscle faster. So far I've found a couple foods that would be possibilities to add to it which are; bananas, honey, cinnamon, peppers, coconuts, honey, and berries. I hope to be at the point where I have all of the ingredients and be ready to test it by the end of November.

  18. My 20% project is going to help every human that can't be in two places at once. I am building a robot that will be able to walk, kick, run, catch, throw, shake hands, and wave. There are many people who can't leave a building because of sickness, the sun will burn their skin, and other symptoms. I want to build this robot so that those people have the chance to be "a normal human being." I am trying to accomplish a dream. A dream that will make people who feel hopeless feel the opposite. They will feel "normal" and like they have hope. It will impact the world by helping all kinds of people who can't do normal things. I will judge the success by experimenting with the motions of the robot, the fluency of the robot, and how long the robot will run. My biggest challenge will be trying to get the robot to do these things, and getting the parts I need to construct this robot.

  19. For my 20% project I am creating an in-floor heating tool. It will condense three steps into one and make the entire process much easier. This tool will feed the zip tie around the pipe and the wire mesh, pull it closed, and cut the extra length of zip tie. It will impact the plumbing world more than the entire world. It's main purpose is to save time and to make this process physically easier on the individuals that have to complete it.
I will judge my overall success by whether I have a working tool or not. My biggest challenge is designing the ins and outs of the tool itself; mechanical versus electrical, how each of those would work, and drawing it out so it could be built.

  20. For my project I am helping to enlist the Denver Broncos for a game of donkey basketball and Toby Keith for a benefit concert. Then I will help plan We are trying to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation. We will impact children’s lives for the better. Also, when a school works together on a project this big, it changes how we look at ourselves and our ability to change the world. I think our biggest challenge will be getting the Broncos and Toby Keith to agree to come to Powell.

  21. My twenty percent project is based around an injury I have sustained myself. I am looking to find ways to prevent damage to the ulnar collateral ligament and if the injury has already happened, how to help with the rehab process. I feel my biggest difficulty will be figuring out how to work around all the different ways people throw a baseball. Hopefully I can make ground to not only help myself recover but to lower the chances of injuries like this.

    ReplyDelete
  22. For my project I am getting glass to but in the roads and sidewalks. It will impact the world by not letting glass be in the landfills. It will judge my success by just letting the glass go to wast all the time. My biggest challenge will be to the glass that I need.

  23. For my 20% time I'm trying to create a rodeo team for the high school, i am trying to accomplish this by creating a paper to present to the school and try to get this approved. This will impact the world by bringing up more cowboys and have the rodeo life, it can help people try a sport where they don't just depend on themselves but also on a animal. I will judge my success by how far I can make it in my progress. I will be shocked if I can even get repaired enough to present it to the school board. My biggest challenge is presenting it to the school.

  24. Ok so for mine and Zachs 20% time we are building a gun that can basically shoot anything. We are starting off by building off of a paintball gun and making it better. Our goal for this month was to have a prototype and have run into barriers such as what to make the gun out of and who can help us make it. We still feel we have accomplished a lot in the past month with learning how it works. Our goal by the end of next month is to have a prototype ready to go!

  25. For Nicole and i's 20% percent project, we are finding evidence that shows that processing a lower-waged job isn't enough for obtaining life necessities. We hope to make our explanation effective enough for students to have high aspirations for themselves in the work force. There's not technically a way for Nicole and I to judge our success with our projects but we hope to make it known to further your educations after high school and make life decisions. Our biggest challenge is finding suitable evidence to convince our audience.

  26. For my 20 % project i'm looking into a halfway house for children in need. My goal for this month was to figure out what the requirements would be to be able to work or run the house. I got my goal half way done. The reason why I only got half of it done is because I was going to call an GAL about what it would take but I could get an appointment in. Some of my problems that I have encountered were that's its hard to get an appointment with people with higher authority. I've solved that this halfway house can be done with a lot of work. I'm still struggling with getting ahold of the people that I need to talk to. My new goal is to know how much this would cost or if it could be funded by the government or the state.

  27. Mine and lupitas 20 % project is tryimg to change peoples minds on teenage pregnancy. How even though its not good, theres always a reason why it happend. It will impact the world because some people might relize they are being cruel and judgemental on something that can happe to anyone at anygiven time even if theyre young. The success of this project may be little because its up to the people to think of it positively or negatively and its not up to us to make their decisions. The biggest challenge will be convincing people to change their minds on something that they may already have their own opinion on.

  28. For our twenty percent project we are trying to get a free or reduced price rental day for students at sleeping giant. This will bring more people to the resort and hopefully make them more money. Our biggest challenge will be contacting them. Our goal is to get ahold of the people at sleeping giant and figure something out.

  29. For my 20% project I am working on making a support webpage for people who have been exposed to or have problems with bullying, anorexia, bulimia, and other forms od disorders. I am making this webpage because a lot of people who suffer from these issues tend to think that they are alone and I am trying to show them that they aren't and that there are ways to over come these problems. It will impact the global community by helping a select group of people over come challenges they face. I will judge the success by on how many people view the website and how much interaction happens on the website. A challenge that I face with this website is having people not make a joke of it because a lot of people tend to make these things not serious. Also making the webpage is going to be a bit of a challenge, but I think I can get it done and done well hopefully.

  30. For Torri and I's 20% project we have created a veteran support group where we get in touch with veterans and learn their stories. We are also planning a Walk for Vets that raises money and awareness about veterans. We believe this will impact the world by showing people what our veterans have gone through and how they should not be forgotten. We will judge our success by seeing how many veterans we can get in touch with, how many people will participate in our walk, and the money we can raise to support these veterans. Our biggest challenge is getting in touch with enough veterans and learning there stories. Also a big challenge we have is finding a location and time at which we can hold our walk.

    ReplyDelete
  31. for my 20 percent time project I'm working with Carli Brown and we are doing a support the veterans thing. We are posting stories of our vets on our website and Facebook page. we plan on holding a walk to make money which we can give to wounded vets or to provide housing. the effect this should have is mainly towards our vets and helping them in anyway we can. I just our success depending on how our walk turns out and the profit gained for our vets. Our biggest challenge will be getting sponsors, renting the property, and getting people to join.

  32. My 20% project is to get people more active. I am trying to get students to start the day out being active by walking around the school.. I feel this project is starting small but will build into something big. In order to judge the success of my project I will see how many people participate. I find that the biggest challenge is to get people to participate and having fun while doing it.

  33. For my 20% project I am attempting to work with Fire Departments across the United States in order to create a Geosynchronized Computer system that will work with real time locations of responding apparatuses in order to effectively chose the optimal route, as well as time traffic lights for the safest and most efficient response to the scene for Fire and EMS units. In the month of October I attempted to contact FDNY, DFD, CFD, and LAFD, however I have yet to hear back from any departments. During the month of October I plan to contact the departments and learn more about the opportunities of such an application. My biggest challenge would be programing such a system and testing it in an environment in which it would be effective for in Wyoming the volume of active calls, as well as traffic, does not make for an effective location to test said Software.

  34. In my 20% project I'm trying to get people to be staff free. This will impact the world by changing lives from going through surgrey's if it is too late, going through all the test to see if the staff has entered the heart or the lungs or any other important organ. The staff infection is getting more common in the daily life's. If it is a success there will be so many more life's saved through the sports programs and in the common core life.i think the biggest challenge will be getting all the people switch to the saftey hazards and getting all the people to go along with it.

For my 20% project I am trying to provide better drinking water in areas around the world that have a bad poverty rate.

How will it impact the world?
If all works out i would be saving kids from parasites and diseases

How will you judge its success?
My success will be determined by the amount of traffic I get thorough my website.

What do you think will be your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge will bring people to my website and getting it recognized.

  36. For my 20% project I didn't not get my goal done. Me and my partner where suppose to start going and talking to teachers, but my partner never ever comes to school so I've decided I need to change my 20% project to something else snd do it on my own. My next goal is to try and find my own thing and start another goal and get that down. I need to have a decision made and hurry and start on it since I'm behind on all this.

  37. For my 20% project I and my partner are trying to build an animal hotel to get animals out of the shelter. It is a therapy thing. We are figuring out a way to pay for a place to build it. We were thinking about making jars to put at animal related businesses. Iwe accompliished our goal which was to figure out how we were gonna come up with procedes. Our November goal is to design a place, and continue to make money.

  38. Morgan, Kendra and I are all working with the Crisis Intervention Center to supply victims of abuse with things like paper towels, body wash, shampoo, etc. For Christmas, we want to supply stocking stuffers to children from babies to 12 year olds. Our September goal was to have bins set up around supermarkets where people could donate things like paper towels for the victims, and we did not accomplish it. It seemed like we had a hard time communicated with people to get the bins set up. It also seemed like every Friday someone was gone, and it was hard to communicate ideas with my partners because of our absences, so we did not accomplish our goal. We are still struggling to obtain bins and cans to put around for money/product donations. So now, by November we hope to have stocking stuffers to donate to some abused kids. The Crisis Intervention Center could help us find which families to donate to. We aren't sure where we want to be by December yet.

  39. For this project, Cydney and I are trying to accomplish creating a cleaner planet, starting with our school. We are doing a recycling program in hopes to get people excited about recycling. It sounds geeky, but we are curious on how many plastic bottles we will collect just in our school. It will impact the world by creating that many less plastic bottles. We plan on judging our success by what people say and also the amount of plastic bottles we collect. Our biggest challenge will probably be keeping caught up on the bins and making sure we make our trips to the recycling center.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Josie Brinkerhoff and I are working on improving our school by encouraging the students to recycle plastic. We have made posters with facts on them that will hopefully make students realize what they would be doing and what they would be helping if they recycle. Would this impact the world? Definitely! Ever little bit is helpful. We have found so many facts about what just one recycled bottle could do, imagine if we got the whole school on board. We will soon set out the bins to collect the plastic, and we will judge how successful we are being by how full the bins are each day or week. I think our biggest challenge will be to find a way to make as many students as we can to join in our efforts. It will take effort on our part to find ways to encourage the students

  41. What it is you are trying to accomplish?
I am trying to accomplish getting a meeting with the special Ed director.

How will it impact the world?
It will change the way people look at special needs kids because i want people t understand the kids more and why they do what they do, why they react how they react, and how to deal and make them feel more comfortable in their environments.

How will you judge its success?
I will judge my success by seeing if more people will try and be friends with the special Ed kids at our school

What do you think will be your biggest challenge?
Getting kids to accept them and be able to handle the people the way that professionals know how to react to them

  42. Megan and I are making a physical therapy brace that will promote quicker healing and faster recovery time. It will also greatly reduce the risk of miscommunication between doctors and patients that seems to be very common nowadays. Since everybody tends to get hurt and almost everybody needs a brace our product will always be in demand all around the world. Our project will impact the world by giving recovering patients and doctors easy access with medicine to the healing injury. Nothing like this has ever been made so easy and accessible as we have designed it to be. The success of this project will be determined by the percent distribution and the profit margin gained over a beginning of 18 months and then annually or quarterly after that. I think the biggest challenge for our project is not necessarily the building or designing of the product, but rather the product pitch required to persuade the medical and physical therapy industries that our product is better than anything they have.
